Students made aprons for cooking class. Students learn to cut fabric, iron, turn and sew edges, sew trim, attach pocket and embellishments.
Field trip to fabric store:
Students learn how to select pattern from pattern book at fabric store, read back of pattern for yardage and notions, select fabrics and notions, request correct yardage to be cut at cutting counter, checkout with coupons.
Sewing:
Students learn to read instructions, cut & trim pattern, pin pattern to fabric, cut fabric, pin pieces together, sew pieces together, and finish project.
